Our extensive experience in Western standards allows SolTech to review, verify, critique and edit process plant designs to meet internationally recognized standards, including piping engineering, pressure vessel design, rotating equipment, storage, and plant layout.

We also offer training support in the application of project management techniques and procedures.

Our Executive Team

Robert Ramsay, P.Eng. - President

A graduate of the University of Alberta in Civil Engineering, Bob has been active in all disciplines of the oil and gas industry for over 40 years and has completed university/post graduate courses in process, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation design.  Bob has the responsibility of senior review and mentoring in addition to working as a senior project manager and specialist engineer.  In addition to project management and detailed engineering, Bob has over 27 years’ experience in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of underground storage facilities for hydrocarbons, in both salt caverns and depleted oil and gas reservoirs.  Bob is a technical committee member for the CSA Standard Z341.  Bob is registered to practice in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Northwest Territories.

Ian Squires, P.Eng. – Managing Partner/Vice-President

A graduate of Memorial University of Newfoundland in Mechanical Engineering, Ian brings over 16 years of direct industry experience and has held a number of positions with local engineering and production companies.  From cost estimating and scheduling through to construction and start-up, Ian has multi-disciplinary experience in facilities and gathering system optimization and upgrading, production operations, project engineering and execution as well as business management.  Ian is familiar with process and mechanical design options for oil and natural gas production and processing equipment and is registered to practice in Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.

Steve Zitterer, P.Eng. – Managing Partner/Vice-President

A graduate of The University of Calgary in Civil Engineering, Steve’s experience ranges from detailed piping stress analysis and structural steel analysis through to supervisory roles in project management, cost estimating, procurement, and construction management.  Steve has significant experience in mechanical specifications and design, civil/structural design and in project implementation for oil and natural gas production and processing facilities. Steve is a member on the CSA Z341 technical committee for underground storage and is registered to practice in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Nova Scotia.
