Our Core Team

Robert Ramsay, P.Eng. - President

Our President, Mr. Ramsay, has over 37 years experience in surface facilities design and project implementation. Working both domestically and overseas, Mr. Ramsay has performed all phases of pipeline and Oil & Gas facilities engineering. He has supervised the operation of treatment facilities and taught operations and maintenance courses. In addition, Mr. Ramsay has 24 years experience in underground storage of hydrocarbons, in both salt caverns and depleted oil and gas reservoirs. He is a member of the technical committee for CSA Standard Z341, Storage of Hydrocarbons in Underground Formations.

Ian Squires, P.Eng. - Vice President and Manager of Projects

Mr. Squires has worked with both EPC and Explorer/Producer organizations in Project Engineering, Project Management, maintenance and construction roles, with a total of 14 years experience both internationally and in Canada.

Mr. Squires mechanical engineering background, combined with his diversified operations and extensive project management experience, make him a proficient senior project manager. He has managed a variety of large oil and gas pipeline and facility projects from conceptualization to completion and handover. Projects include production optimization, gathering system debottlenecking, compression, gas processing, upgrader maintenance and oil batteries.

His volunteer activity and active involvement with APEGGA, Engineers Canada (formerly CCPE) and the Calgary Flames Ambassadors serve as an indication of his commitment to the profession of engineering, community involvement and leadership skills.

Steve Zitterer, P.Eng. - Vice President and Manager of Engineering

Mr. Zitterer is responsible for the setup, management, and execution of a variety of projects including performing detailed engineering, procurement, and construction support. He also provides support concerning piping stress and structural steel analysis. Other activities include checking drawings and documents to ensure technical accuracy and quality.

Since graduation Mr. Zitterer has gained more than seven years experience in the oil and gas production facilities engineering field. During this time he has been involved in detailed mechanical and civil engineering, procurement of oilfield materials and equipment, regulatory applications, notifications, contract preparation, bidding, tendering, construction management and field support. Mr. Zitterer has also participated in the development and review of: PFDs, P&IDs, plot plans, foundation drawings, control valve sizing, regulator sizing, piping stress analysis using CAESAR II, and structural design using RISA 3D.

Ken Lee, P.Eng. - Project Manager & Mechanical Engineer

Mr. Lee has been involved a variety of civil and mechanical engineering and construction projects, ranging from culvert installations for the provincial government and relocation upgrades for the Calgary Inter-Faith Food Bank to oil and gas pipeline and facility design and installation. He has a range of engineering experience that includes pipelines, compressor packages, glycol dehydration plants, and heavy wall vessels for the oil sands. His experience with a major process equipment fabricator includes guiding projects through scheduling, design, drafting, procurement, construction, warehousing, and quality control.

This first hand experience provides enormous value, not only with codes and standards compliance in the design stage of projects, but also when liaising with sub-contractors, suppliers, and other third parties required to realize a job through to completion.

Mr. Lee is also actively involved as a member and volunteer for the Calgary Search and Rescue Association (CALSARA).

Candice Robinson, P.Eng. -

Candice has been involved in a variety of engineering and construction projects, ranging from pipeline replacements, to multi-well tie-in projects, to large plant simulation and modification. In addition to managing projects from initial scoping through to final drawing preparation and construction, she has been involved with many of the details of engineering design, including hydraulic calculations, process simulation, equipment sizing, control valve and regulator sizing, mechanical design, drawing preparation, regulatory applications, procurement, and field/construction support.

Candice's previous experience as a field engineer supervising operations and designing field-driven facility changes in both gas and oil fields allows her to consider the needs of operators, mechanics, and service providers when designing facilities. Finally, her experience supervising and coordinating well work overs has given her a unique insight into how down hole configuration can impact surface design.

Jane Bouey, E.I.T -

Ms. Bouey has a background working for both EPCM and Operating/Production companies. Her experience lies in the project management of both conventional oil and gas greenfield projects as well as in retrofits and replacements of existing infrastructure. She also has worked on multiple emissions reductions projects and large regulatory applications for Alberta Environment, ABSA, Saskatchewan Environment, and the ERCB.

Her volunteer experience includes working on sustainability initiatives for the Oil and Gas industry.

Jeff Malone, E.I.T -

Mr. Malone is a member of Vantage’s mechanical engineering team. During his time at Vantage, he has compiled construction and bid packages for well-tie in projects and has generated project cost estimates. He also has put together cash call schedules for major projects and mechanical design review. Mr. Malone has handled the engineering, design, and scheduling of numerous pipeline liner installation projects from start to finish.

Rithu Rajan - Process Engineer

Ms. Rajan provides chemical engineering support. At Vantage she is responsible for process simulation, process design, equipment sizing and equipment selection for petrochemical facilities and utilities. She brings with her a strong background in research, process design, and technical engineering.
